Biography
During a period when England's hardcore and metal scenes had faded considerably, Knuckledust formed in 1996 to restore some heft to British acts. The group sustained a steady trajectory over the years, avoiding any personnel shifts that might have disrupted their progress. Bassist Nic, drummer Ray, guitarist Wema, and vocalist Pierre launched their initial recordings in 1997, consisting of a CD EP and a 7", which led to further EPs plus various compilation tracks on Household Name Records. Building on that foundation alongside energetic performances, they secured a contract with Blackfish Records and issued their debut full-length, Time Won't Heal This, in 2000. The band later transferred to Gangstyle Records, gaining broader reach through that imprint beginning in 2002. At their new label they delivered three subsequent albums—Universal Struggle in 2003, Unbreakable in 2005, and Promises Comfort Fools in 2007—along with the 2006 Rucktion compilation Dustography, while maintaining an active touring schedule that included shows alongside Sworn Enemy, Hatebreed, and Suicidal Tendencies.
