In the early 1990s Chilean Daniel Alejandro Guerrero Espinoza joined Pablo Fernando Castro Navarrete to form the Latin pop duo la Sociedad. Their first project reached listeners in 1993 as the pop-and-ballad set Misterios, which carried the hit single "Yo Te Quiero." After Dulce y Fatal appeared in 1994 the pair began scaling charts across Latin America. El Camino de los Sueños, issued two years afterward, marked their initial album recorded inside the U.S. Tito Dávila of Los Enanitos Verdes handled production on the 2000 release Bar de Amores.
