Biography
Scottish DJ duo LF System craft exuberant house anthems steeped in vintage disco and soul traditions. One of the biggest U.K. successes of 2022 belonged to them: “Afraid to Feel,” which held the top spot on the pop charts for eight straight weeks.
Hailing from West Lothian, Conor Larkman and Sean Finnigan first crossed paths while spinning records at Edinburgh’s FLY club. Late in the 2010s they began posting disco edits, DJ mixes, and original productions on SoundCloud; official releases followed in 2020 with the single “Weekend in Berlin.” Their Warner debut, “Dancing Cliché,” surfaced the next year and reworked the Main Ingredient and Cuba Gooding’s rendition of Luther Vandross’s “Party People.” Early 2022 brought “So Do You,” a fusion of acid house and disco. Their subsequent release, “Afraid to Feel,” drew from Silk’s 1979 track “I Can’t Stop (Turning You On)” performed by Louise Clare Marshall and incorporated multiple tempo changes. The song emerged as an unexpected smash, dominating clubs and radio before reaching number one in July, remaining there for eight weeks, securing platinum status, and receiving remixes from David Guetta and Armand Van Helden. October saw the arrival of “Hungry (For Love),” built on Sandy's Gang’s “Hungry.”
