Hailing from California, rapper and producer Lund—whose first initial appears in a cursive typeface—crafts ethereal tracks built around melodic singing, atmospheric guitar textures, and minimal beats. His unflinchingly personal material, notably the 2016 track “Broken,” confronts themes of depression, suicidal ideation, and substance dependency.

Robert Lund first issued EPs of mostly beat-driven instrumentals beginning in 2014. “Broken,” among his earliest vocal recordings, surfaced two years later and rapidly accumulated a substantial internet audience. The LPs Gold and BlkBird, the latter arriving in 2017, further developed his moody, atmospheric blend of rap styles. After relocating to Los Angeles in 2018 he issued the single “Low,” though output remained limited that year; he returned to regular releases with additional singles throughout 2019. In the year that followed, Republic Records licensed his earlier success “Broken” and issued a new version featuring Lil Skies and Noah Cyrus.
