Mandy Capristo entered the world on March 21, 1990, in Mannheim, Germany. Her primary recognition stems from membership in the girl group Monrose. Dance and piano instruction began for her at age four, after which she competed in Austria's Kiddy Contest in 2001 and cut her debut recording, "Ich Wünsche Mir Einen Bankomat." The 2002 follow-up single "Moskito" reached the top of the Austrian charts, yet her parents turned down the offered record deal on the grounds that she remained too young. At sixteen she joined the 2006 casting show Popstars -- Neue Engel Braucht das Land and was ultimately chosen, together with Bahar Kýzýl and Senna Guemmour, to form the pop group Monrose. Over the band's five-year run the trio secured seven Top Ten singles in Germany and moved more than 1.5 million records. Once Monrose disbanded in 2011, Capristo started her solo career by issuing the R&B/soul-tinged pop album Grace in 2012, which entered the German album charts at number eight.
