Biography
McKenna Grace built a thriving presence across film and television long before she released her first song, “Haunted House,” in 2021. Additional singles arrived in quick succession—“You Ruined Nirvana,” “Post Party Trauma,” and “do all my friends hate me?”—leading to the arrival of her debut album, Bittersweet 16, whose rock- and pop-inspired sound captured teenage turmoil in 2023.
She entered the world in Grapevine, Texas, and began performing at four, appearing on Crash & Bernstein and The Young and the Restless. Feature films soon followed, among them Independence Day: Resurgence in 2016, I, Tonya in 2017, and Captain Marvel in 2019. Her portrayal of Phoebe Spengler in Ghostbusters: Afterlife, released in 2021, ultimately opened the door to music. Drawing from the pop and rock records her parents collected, Grace fused both styles on “Haunted House,” which found a place on the Ghostbusters soundtrack. Further tracks emerged, including the spiky, break-up track “You Ruined Nirvana” and the anxiety-themed “do all my friends hate me?,” before she issued her angsty debut album, Bittersweet 16.
