Biography
Hailing originally from Caledon, Ontario, where she spent her formative years, Megan Bonnell now resides in Toronto, Canada, working as an alternative folk singer and songwriter. Her early command of piano and guitar helped shape a body of work defined by a subdued yet forceful character anchored in her soft, airy vocal approach. September 2010 brought her self-titled debut EP, followed the next summer by the release Maps. Late 2013 marked the arrival of her first full-length album, Hunt and Chase, issued through Nevado Records and shaped by producers Chris Stringer (the Wooden Sky, Holly McNarland) and Josh Van Tassel (David Myles, Christine Bougie), with occasional synthesizer and electric guitar woven in. She later aligned with Fontana for her sophomore effort, again enlisting Stringer and Van Tassel, and the resulting album Magnolia appeared in spring 2016.
