Los Angeles-based punk trio Mercy Killers draw from the lineage of the Damned, T.S.O.L., Generation X, and the Clash. Vocalist/guitarist Craig Fairbaugh, formerly of the Forgotten, assembled the lineup after logging road time alongside the Transplants and Lars Fredericksen & the Bastards. On the suggestion of mutual acquaintance Tim Armstrong, he connected with bassist/vocalist Sam “Sampire” Soto, whose résumé includes Sluts for Hire and Original Sinners; while touring Ireland with the Bastards, Fairbaugh also encountered drummer Colin Berrill. Hailing from Dundalk, Ireland, Berrill had long played in local punk outfit the Gurriers before joining forces with Fairbaugh and Soto. In 2005 the band issued a self-titled four-song EP through Rancid Records; the following year I Scream Records re-released the material as a split with Belgium’s Enemy Rose under the title …And to Become One. Summer 2006 saw their first full-length album, Bloodlove, arrive on Hellcat.
