Biography
The UK black pop ensemble MN8, whose members perform under the pseudonyms KG, G-Man, Kule T and Dee-Tails, achieved a major breakthrough in 1994 with the issue of ‘I’ve Got A Little Something For You’. This oddly menacing swingbeat number nevertheless established the Surrey, England-based quartet as teenage idols across the country. Their subsequent release, ‘If You Only Let Me In’, offered another dose of infectious swingbeat soul, its video spotlighting the suggestive dance moves that quickly emerged as a defining characteristic. MN8 later accompanied Janet Jackson on her European tour and maintained a steady presence on UK television. The group’s first album, issued in 1995 under the title To The Next Level, displayed more range than their singles had implied, placing the Walt Disney-style ballad ‘Pathway To The Moon’ beside soul-oriented cuts such as ‘Lonely’ and ‘Happy’.
