Biography
Hailing from Newmarket, Ontario in the Greater Toronto Area, Modern Space is a five-piece that produces spirited, hook-driven indie pop. The lineup came together in 2014, consisting of lead vocalist Sean Watson Graham, guitarists Sam Arion and Alex Laurie, bass player Cody Steele, and drummer Tay Ewart. Their energetic live shows led to an immediate recording contract with Warner Music. Fall 2015 saw the label issue the quintet’s debut single, “Pen to Paper,” drawn from the Tawgs Salter-produced EP Before Sunrise that appeared in early 2016. In the interim the group toured Canada, supporting acts that included compatriots Lights and Arkells.
