Negrita

Italian five-piece rock act Negrita originated in the early '90s when former members of Inu-Dibili came together. While working the regional club scene, the group captured its debut EP during 1992 sessions and followed that effort two years afterward with a self-titled first album that yielded the hit single "Cambio." The 1995 release Paradisi Per Illusi reached listeners across Europe through a series of live presentations. Negrita earned its initial breakthrough by serving as Italy's representative at Turkey's European Rock Festival. Relocating to the United States in 1996, the band tracked XXX, which surfaced in January 1997; that project was succeeded in 1999 by Reset, whose single "Hollywood" received a nomination at the European MTV Music Awards.
