Biography
Jason Darr founded the Canadian alternative rock project Neurosonic as his own creative outlet. Earlier he had played in the Calgary rock band Out of Your Mouth, which landed radio and MuchMusic airplay with its version of Madonna's "Music." Dissatisfaction with that group later led Darr to leave and pursue an independent route, carrying along both his assertive musical stance and his enthusiasm for electronics. The outcome was Neurosonic, an infectious fusion of industrial textures and hard rock that retained an intense, pop-inflected character. Darr acquired studio proficiency and performed on every instrument himself, thereby retaining full authority over all aspects of the recording process. His first Neurosonic album, Drama Queen, appeared in Canada in mid-2005 and reached Europe before the close of that year. Bodog Music released Drama Queen in the United States in January 2007.
