Niels Van Gogh originates from Augsburg, one of Germany's most historic cities, yet this background has fueled rather than limited his output of forward-thinking dance music. His career behind the decks launched in 1997, and he advanced rapidly through sets at fashionable venues alongside appearances at prominent gatherings such as Berlin's Love Parade, the yearly event that routinely draws over one million attendees. Chart achievements followed as well. His debut release, the 1998 single "Pulverturm," arrived as a distinctive trance production featuring pulsing effects and a strong bass foundation. Issued via Munich's Kosmo Records, the track was co-produced alongside Eniac, the studio figure from the Novy vs. Eniac duo behind the 1997 global hit "Superstar." As a result, "Pulverturm" reached the top of the German dance charts while achieving notable traction across additional European markets. Van Gogh remained with Kosmo Records for his subsequent efforts, maintaining his experimental approach on the 1999 track "Doppelganger" and the 2000 release "Psychopath." Although both cuts earned strong club support and recognition within Germany, neither replicated the sales impact of his initial single.
