Biography
Signed to deadmau5’s mau5trap imprint, electro house artist No Mana first established his profile through the UP run of singles and later unveiled his debut full-length Secret Level during February 2020.
Born Jordan Orcaz and based in Los Angeles, the producer absorbed his grandfather’s passion for techno and trance while still a child; growing up amid those electronic sounds naturally steered him toward making his own tracks. His first public step came with a remix of Black Morphs & Elexem’s “You & I,” which drew the attention of deadmau5 and led directly to a mau5trap signing. Keeping his video-game aesthetic intact, Orcaz opened his label account with the 2015 two-track release “1UP,” then added “2UP,” “3UP,” “4UP,” “5UP,” “Tell Me,” and “Claws” before the year ended. Those early cuts moved across trance and electro house yet stayed anchored by a sharp, punchy production style that echoed the label founder’s own approach.
The UP sequence continued in 2016 with four further installments (“6UP” through “9UP”) alongside his first EP, Game Over. The next twelve months brought the EP Above the Blue, framed by the weightier cuts “10UP” and “11UP.” Output accelerated in 2018: while “12UP” and “13UP” kept the numbered series alive, Orcaz also dropped the two extended mini-albums Assorted Repetitions and Melted Candy, each exceeding thirty minutes. After issuing “14UP” and additional singles throughout 2019, he completed Secret Level in February 2020. The album upheld his longstanding focus on high-impact tracks, concentrating chiefly on the electro-house side of his sound and featuring appearances from Chipzel, Voicians, Jantine, and EDDIE.
