Biography
In 1994 the R&B vocal quartet Nu Flavor originated in Long Beach, California, once Frank Pangelinan (tenor/lead), Jacob Ceniceros (baritone), Anthony DaCosta (tenor), and Rico Luna (alto) first encountered one another at a party. The foursome promptly cut a demo that showcased their version of Journey's smash ballad "Open Arms"; the tape reached Reprise president Howie Klein, who signed Nu Flavor immediately. Their self-titled debut album arrived in 1997 and yielded the hits "Heaven" and "Sweet Sexy Thing"; It's On followed two years later.
