Olivia Broadfield

Olivia Broadfield, an English singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist, shaped thoughtful electronic pop in the spirit of Imogen Heap and Feist while writing and tracking material inside her “rock & roll bungalow” home studio. She entered a publishing arrangement with pigFACTORY in 2007 and teamed with producer Josh Crocker to refine the songs for her debut album, Eyes Wide Open, which appeared before the year closed. Her recordings surfaced on series such as The Hills and The Real World, and the clip for her song “Indescribable” received airtime during the 2009 Grammys. Vagrant Records offered her an American contract around the same moment, making her the punk-dominated label’s first female artist. That summer the imprint released a remixed and remastered edition of Eyes Wide Open.
