Biography
After being dismissed from the Swedish speed-death metal group the Crown to accommodate At the Gates legend Tomas Lindberg, vocalist Johan Lindstrand was later invited back to handle vocals on the band's last release. He responded by launching a fresh endeavor called One Man Army and the Undead Quartet, a name unrelated to the San Francisco punk rock act One Man Army. Teaming up with guitarist and bassist Valle Adzic, already a collaborator through their work in Impious, along with lead guitarist Mikael Lagerblad, Lindstrand produced a six-song demo that caught the attention of Nuclear Blast Records. Once the deal was secured, rhythm guitarist Pekka Kiviaho and drummer Marek Dobrowolski joined the lineup for recording sessions on the debut album 21st Century Killing Machine, issued in 2006 and showcasing a potent blend of contemporary death and thrash metal. Shortly after, Robert Axelsson stepped in on bass to fill the vacancy left by Adzic's departure.
