Peter Sterling

Peter Sterling has built an extensive body of new age and contemporary instrumental work as a skilled harpist while also working as an author, visual artist, and spiritual guide. His career began promisingly in 1994 with the album Harp Magic, after which he spent the following three decades earning recognition as a dedicated and productive composer. Early releases appeared on the World Disc and Real Music imprints, and he started his own label during the mid-2000s. Residing in Sedona, Arizona, Sterling has received multiple honors in the genre, among them COVR Visionary Music Awards for Sanctuary of Light in 2021 and Mystic Voyager in 2023.

Trained initially on guitar, Sterling decided to pursue the harp after encountering the music of Swiss harpist Andreas Vollenweider in the early 1990s. Within ten months of teaching himself the instrument he issued his debut, Harp Magic, in 1994. Drawing from the mystical terrain and spiritual environment of his Sedona home, he sustained his development as a composer with subsequent projects such as Harp Dreams in 2004 and Shadow, Mist & Light in 2005, the latter issued by Real Music. Frequent appearances on the new age ZMR charts include several chart-topping entries, among them Patterns of Reflection in 2012 and Twilight Serenade in 2013. At the same time he launched a parallel path as writer and spiritual mentor with the 2012 publication of his first book, Hearing the Angels Sing: A True Story of Angelic Assistance. Numerous albums have earned recognition from ZMR, Hollywood Music in Media, and COVR. His activity continued through the following decade with The Winding Way in 2021 and Mystic Voyager in 2023.
