Biography
Radiant Children's alternative R&B, blending funk, jazz, and sun-dazed soul into a laid-back aesthetic, first surfaced through a 2016 collaboration with GoldLink. Their initial EP, Tryin', arrived two years later.
London-based, the group came together in 2016 and gained their earliest named credit the following year on GoldLink's "Summatime," which included a guest verse from Wale. By June 2018, when they issued their debut single "Life's a Bitch," each member had already built individual credits as songwriters and studio players. Vocalist Fabienne Holloway had contributed to other projects, among them Rosie Lowe's "So Human" and Zedd's "Get Low." Saxophonist Marco Bernardis, whose main instrument defined much of his profile, had recorded with Iggy Azalea and Elli Ingram. Tyler Acord, recording solo as Lophiile, had put out his own material while also producing tracks for Chon and Gallant and reworking Troye Sivan's "Wild" and Zedd's "Stay." Under the Radiant Children name, they dropped Tryin' in August 2018, with "Poke Bowl" later becoming their streaming breakthrough cut. Further singles such as "Sky Mind" and "Mariposa" appeared in 2020.
