Revolver Cannabis formed as a regional Mexican ensemble in Culiacan, Sinaloa, Mexico. Producer and songwriter Giovanni Cabrera originated the project in the first months of 2011, recruiting founding members Carlos Enríquez on accordion and vocals, David Garcia on bajo sexto and vocals, Eduardo Beltran on tuba, and Alexander Medina on drums. Their distinctive approach fuses core banda and norteño traditions into an unexpected hybrid they term “bachata norteño.”

The ensemble’s debut release arrived in February 2012 as the live recording Las Que les Gustan a los Viejones on Del Records, capturing their live intensity and stylistic blend while gaining swift traction online. Later that same August, the studio album Seremos Eternos... Pero por Ahora Somos los Que Estamos ascended to the summit of the Billboard Regional Mexican chart, propelled by its lead single “Enamorada de Tu Blackberry,” which secured a prominent position. Del Records responded by issuing the second concert set Que Les Gustan a los Viejones, Vol. 2: En Vivo con Tololoche in September 2013.

The next studio effort, Balas, Rosas y Plomo, appeared in 2014 and reached number five on the Top Latin Albums chart, with its accompanying videos accumulating tens of millions of YouTube views; one of those tracks, “El de los Lentes Carrera,” also entered the Top 40 of the Digital Songs Sales chart. While the group toured throughout 2015, Del Records released the five-track EP Amos del Terror, and the musicians remained on the road until late 2016. Following a short hiatus, they returned to the studio and completed the full-length La Ruleta Sigue Girando, which surfaced in May 2017.
