Soulful and effusive British pop/rock/R&B quartet Rixton captured widespread notice in 2013 via an enormously popular YouTube channel that highlighted the band’s renditions of tracks by artists such as Taylor Swift, R. Kelly, Rita Ora, and Chris Brown. Drawing comparisons to Maroon 5, Bruno Mars, and Ed Sheeran, the ensemble assembled in Manchester in 2012 around lead singer and rhythm guitarist Jake Roche, bassist/keyboardist and backing vocalist Danny Wilkin, lead guitarist and backing vocalist Charley Bagnall, and drummer Lewi Morgan. The group reached American listeners for the first time in March 2014 through the Interscope-issued Me and My Broken Heart EP, which carried an assurance that a complete album would arrive before the year closed. Rixton resurfaced in 2015 with their debut full-length album Let the Road, which spotlighted the singles “Wait on Me” and “Hotel Ceiling.”
