Biography
The sixth season of Germany’s Popstars franchise, which aired in 2007, assembled the pop quartet Room2012. Its lineup features vocalists Julian Kasprzik (b. October 12, 1987) and Sascha Schmitz (b. July 17, 1984), both of whom had previously auditioned on Deutschland sucht den Superstar, alongside Cristobal Galvez Moreno (b. May 19, 1987) and sole female member Tialda van Slogteren (b. May 22, 1985 in Amsterdam), an alumna of the Dutch series Idols. For live shows the group is joined by the Popstars Dance Company, whose members—Aziz Kruezi, Armin “Shorty” Nezirevic, Darren Drake Baldric, Raik Preetz, and Vika Ljascenko—were also selected on the program. One week after the finale, the quartet issued its debut album Elevator together with the lead single “Haunted.” The record entered the German charts at number seven and the Austrian charts at number four, marking the first time a Popstars act failed to reach the top position.
