Biography

Hailing from Austin, Texas, the CCM/Latin fusion group Salvador launched with vocalists Nic, Art, and Josh Gonzales, keyboardist Adrian Lopez, and percussionist Eliot Torres. Before issuing its self-titled debut album in mid-2000, the ensemble appeared at Acquire the Fire youth conferences and joined the Soul 2 Soul tour. Additional members have featured keyboardist/vocalist Chris Bevins, trumpeter/flügelhornist Edwin Santiago, trombonist/saxophonist Jared Solis, drummer Robert Acuña, and percussionist Alejandro Santoyo. After the eponymous first record, Salvador issued Into Motion in 2002, followed by Con Poder and Worship Live in 2003, So Natural in 2004, and Dismiss the Mystery in 2006. Frontman Nic Gonzales married Christian pop star Jaci Velasquez on January 13, 2007. April of the next year brought the release of the band’s Aware album.
