Sara Isaksson entered the world on February 19, 1971, as a Swedish singer whose first solo outing arrived in 1995 yet whose strongest results came later through partnerships, above all with Rebecka Törnqvist and Anders Widmark. Her opening release, the English-language country-rock set Red Eden on MCA, landed at number 24 on the Swedish albums chart and yielded the single “May.” The 1996 follow-up Walking Through and By, together with its single “Shifting Dream,” fared more modestly, prompting the end of her MCA period. Backup singing on assorted sessions filled the ensuing years, after which she became a member of the band Gloria alongside jazz-pop singer Törnqvist. That group issued Gloria in 1999, which climbed to number 13 on the Swedish albums chart, and People Like You and Me in 2003, which reached number 26. In 2006 the two vocalists formed a duo and issued Fire in the Hole, a collection of Steely Dan material that entered the Top 30. Isaksson simultaneously worked with pianist Widmark on the albums Anders Widmark Featuring Sara Isaksson in 2002 and Pool of Happiness in 2008, the latter achieving Top Ten status.
