Sasha, Benny y Erik

Formed as pre-teens during the early ’80s inside the popular Mexican band Timbiriche, Sasha Sokol, Benny Ibarra, and Erik Rubin later reconvened as the adult trio Sasha, Benny y Erik. Their guitar-based adult-alternative pop surfaced on the live album Primera Fila, released by Sony Music in 2012, after which they mounted concert dates throughout Mexico and the U.S. Momentum from those shows led to the 2013 CD/DVD set En Vivo Desde el Auditorio Nacional. Their debut studio album, Vuelta al Sol, followed in 2014 and reached the Top 20 on Billboard’s Latin Pop Albums chart. The 2016 live collection Entre Amigos, which mixed new songs with earlier hits, likewise landed inside the Latin pop Top 20. Nevertheless, despite this swift and sustained success, the trio announced in June 2016 that they would disband to concentrate on solo projects.
