Biography
Argentinean Sergio Denis first entered the music scene at age 16 by joining the band los Jokers. In 1969 he became a member of los Bambis, where he recorded the CBS release los Bambis También Cantan. After that project he launched his solo career, making his initial television appearance in January 1970 while issuing an album and representing Argentina at the inaugural Latin Song Festival in Mexico City with the song "Yo Te Amo Como Entonces." In 1972 Denis added acting to his activities with a role in Fernando Siro’s film Me Enamore Sin Darme Cuenta. Two years afterward he delivered a well-received performance at Buenos Aires’ Opera Theatre. In 1981 Billboard en Español named him Best Male Performer. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s he switched labels from CBS to Polygram and then to EMI, establishing himself among Argentina’s top-selling vocalists. In 1992 New York’s ACE honored his body of work.
