Biography
Emerging from Blackpool, England, the high-energy punk outfit Strange Bones cultivated a loyal underground following across the second half of the 2010s via relentless road work and a consistent stream of self-released EPs and singles. Their abrasive, high-octane style and ferocious stage presence carried the group into the 2020s with momentum, as the Blitz, Pt. 2 EP drew widespread notice and led to a deal with the U.S. imprint FRKST for multiple joint projects.
The Bentham brothers—Bobby on vocals, Will on bass, and Jack on guitar—launched the project in their seaside hometown, steeped in foundational punk yet experimenting with trap, hip-hop, and electronic textures. Joined by founding drummer Stuart Newburn, they issued their first recordings in 2015, setting a visceral template with tracks such as “S.O.I.A.” and the grinding 2016 single “Slug City.” Years of independent output and touring tightened their chemistry, and by the time “Here Come the Wolves” appeared as a 7-inch in 2018, the band had established a firm foothold within the British scene. The self-released Blitz, Pt. 1 (2019) and its 2020 follow-up attracted industry interest, securing a contract with FRKST Records, the Warner-linked label headed by Highly Suspect’s Johnny Stevens. With Nathan Sanderson taking over on drums, the group then issued joint singles such as “Menace” alongside Bob Vylan and the 2021 track “Venom” with Death Tour.
