Biography
Sunset Heights, a Texas rock band, came together during May 1991 and chose their name after the suburban Houston neighborhood they called home. Their opening album, Eclipse of the Sun, reached listeners in 1992, and the Houston Press Music Awards honored the act as "Best New Act" the following year. National exposure arrived via the 1994 release Texas Tea, with the live set Born in Houston--Live appearing in 1995. The 1996 album S.N.A.F.U. signaled their return, by which time the roster comprised singers and guitarists Jackie Hibbard and Jorge Castillo, bassist Jason "Big Daddy" Youngblood, and drummer Rick Hall; Medicine Hat arrived in 1998, succeeded a year later by a self-titled LP.
