Hailing from New Jersey, Young Rising Sons merge astute modern pop with an energetic rock foundation and electronic inflections. Their profile rose sharply after issuing the 2014 single "High," which paved the way for a pair of favorably received EPs: The Kids Will Be Fine in 2015 and Undefeatable +2 the following year. The quartet finally unveiled their first full-length effort, Still Point in a Turning World, in 2022.

The group came together in Red Bank, New Jersey, during 2010. Guitarist Dylan Scott, bassist Julian Dimagiba, and drummer Steve Patrick—who had already shared stages in several high-school-era combos—encountered an acoustic performance by Ohio-born singer, songwriter, and guitarist Andy Tongren inside a New York City venue. Recognizing the ideal frontman for their project, the trio invited Tongren aboard. The newly formed quartet clicked at once, channeling classic pop influences such as the Beatles and the Temptations alongside the tuneful hard rock of Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen, Green Day, and similar acts to craft an upbeat, contemporary hard-pop style accented by electronics and optimistic themes.

After aligning with the New York-based production company Dirty Canvas Music, the band issued the regional single "High," which drew extensive press coverage and substantial local radio rotation. That exposure secured a contract with Interscope Records and prompted sessions for a self-titled debut EP. The track "High" from the EP surpassed ten million streams, while later the same year the group delivered "Habits (Stay High)," another digital success that exceeded 3.5 million plays. Their second EP, The Kids Will Be Fine, arrived in 2015 and contained the further online hit "F**ked Up," another number centered on intoxication.

Dylan Scott departed in May 2016. Five months afterward the remaining members returned via the three-song EP Undefeatable +2. A standalone single, "Carry On," surfaced in February 2017, succeeded by additional non-album releases that included 2018’s "+WHISKEY-" and the double-sided "SAD/Scatterbrain." Around the same period the band severed ties with both Dirty Canvas and Interscope while entering a hiatus during which Tongren, Dimagiba, and Patrick pursued the pop side project Camden Welles.

Activity resumed in 2020 once guitarist Max Iantorno joined. Several singles preceded their fourth EP, Swirl, in 2021. March 2022 brought the long-awaited debut album Still Point in a Turning World, produced by Tongren and featuring the song "In My Room" with Sizzy Rocket.
