Biography
In October 2007 the rock quartet Taddy Porter assembled in Stillwater, Oklahoma, around singer/guitarist Andy Brewer, guitarist Joe Selby, bassist Kevin Jones, and drummer Doug Jones. Once they had cultivated an audience in the Oklahoma City region, Primary Wave Records signed them and scheduled their self-titled debut album for release on June 29, 2010. Before that date arrived, the single “Shake Me” received airplay and additional tracks appeared on Monday Night Football, ESPN SportsCenter, and Cougartown. Two days before the album reached stores, the season premiere of Entourage featured the band’s songs “King Louie” and “Mean Bitch.” The day after the Taddy Porter CD went on sale, the group began its first national tour, which continued into early September; they subsequently opened for Slash.
