Biography
Around 1998, three individuals who openly identified as alcoholics assembled Tangorodrim in Israel through a chance series of drinking sessions, with the goal of delivering blasphemous black metal in the stark manner associated with Darkthrone, early Mayhem, and Hellhammer. Reports circulated that the lineup—Mrakobes on vocals and guitar, Tangor on guitar, Darveter on bass, and Alcogolik on drums—had arrived as immigrants from Russia. The group issued its first recording, the ultra-crude Unholy Metal Way, in 1999 and followed it roughly two years later with Those Who Unleashed, both appearing on the band-operated Aggressor Productions. Southern Lord Recordings later released the vinyl-only Unholy and Unlimited in 2004, pressing the edition to a limited run of exactly 666 copies.
