Biography
Theme Park, a trio from London, came together in 2011 thanks to brothers Marcus and Miles Haughton along with their companion Oscar Manthorpe. The group quickly gained attention through their distinctive synth-driven and new wave-tinged pop sound, issuing their debut single Milk via the London independent label Luv Luv Luv, which had previously nurtured Florence + the Machine in its early days. After signing with Transgressive in 2012, they went on to open for acts including Florence and Bloc Party, and launched their self-titled first album early in 2013. That same year brought various tour dates and several singles extracted from the record, after which the band stepped back to gradually develop material for their next effort. Across the subsequent three years, they collaborated sporadically with longtime acquaintance Ben Garrett, known professionally as Fryars, to compose and track what became their second album. Their initial output surfaced in 2016 via the single L.A. (Is Stealing My Friends), with the full album Is This How It Starts? emerging in the middle of 2017.
