Biography
Formed in 2006, the classical crossover vocal trio Three Graces brought together singers Sara Gettelfinger, Joy Kabanuck, and Kelly Levesque. Gettelfinger arrived with extensive stage-musical experience that included Broadway appearances in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, The Seussical, The Boys from Syracuse, and Nine; she had also originated the role of Edith (“Little Edie”) Bouvier in the first Off-Broadway staging of Grey Gardens. Kabanuck, likewise a Broadway veteran, performed in Baz Luhrmann’s production of La Boheme—an engagement underscoring her operatic training, which is further demonstrated by her work in Mozart’s Così fan Tutte, Donizetti’s Betly and Lucia di Lammermoor, Gounod’s Faust, and Verdi’s La Traviata. Levesque contributed the song “Some Hearts” to the soundtrack of America’s Sweethearts, toured as a duet partner with Andrea Bocelli, and shared stages with Josh Groban, Russell Watson, and Vittorio Grigolo.
Under contract with Decca Records, the group recorded its self-titled debut album with the assistance of prominent producers and songwriters Walter Afanasieff, Desmond Child, Guy Roche, and Mark Portmann. The collection mixed covers of Snow Patrol’s “Run,” Heart’s “These Dreams,” and Phil Collins’ “Against All Odds” with two original compositions by the trio, “I Wish (All the Love in the World)” and “Don’t Let Me Forget.” Issued on March 4, 2008, the album appeared shortly before Three Graces embarked on a twenty-date North American tour as opening act for opera singer Paul Potts.
