Biography
Formed in 1996 within the Finnish town of Salo, the five-piece power metal outfit Twilight Guardians first drew notice through their 2006 rendition of Madonna’s mid-’80s pop single “La Isla Bonita.” After issuing the 1998 EP Land of the Kings, the band delivered its full-length debut Tales of the Brave in 2000. Early visibility increased through appearances at festivals such as Numirock, where the group shared stages with Hammerfall, Scorpions, and Motörhead. A subsequent deal with Spinefarm led to the 2004 release of the follow-up album Wasteland. The third record, Sin Trade, arrived in 2006 and featured the Madonna cover. That same lineup—Vesa Virtanen on vocals, Carl-Johan Gustafsson on guitars, Mikko Tång on bass, Henri Suominen on drums, and Jari Pailamo on keyboards—issued Ghost Reborn in 2007, earning favorable notices from critics.
