Biography
TYNI draws from Lene Lovich, Madonna, David Bowie, and Lady Gaga rather than Sheffield contemporaries the Human League and ABC when shaping her modern take on electronic pop. A showcase appearance at an intimate industry event caught the ear of producer Wayne Wilkins—known for work with Natasha Bedingfield, Shontelle, and Cheryl Cole—who promptly placed her on his Croydon Boy imprint. Recording first under the name Tiny Dancer, she issued the 2013 single “Who Am I,” after which she shortened the moniker and rearranged its vowels. Further sessions with Wilkins alongside Ana Diaz and MNEK yielded the 2017 EP Fighter.
