Biography

Xenia’s raspy timbre, carrying a weight well beyond her 16 years, secured her place among the finalists on NBC’s The Voice in summer 2011. As the middle sibling in a household of five, she had sung throughout her upbringing in Temecula, California, and joined the program while on summer break from school. Her soulful, smoky alto drew the notice of Blake Shelton, who became her mentor and steered her through successive rounds of the competition. Although Javier Colon ultimately prevailed, devoted viewers propelled her debut single—a cover of Jessie J’s “Price Tag”—onto the lower reaches of the Hot 100 later that summer. The EP Sing You Home arrived in December 2011.
