Born in Oakland and later based in Atlanta, singer/rapper Robert Davis launched his recording career under the moniker Rolls Royce Rizzy. Attention from a prominent luxury carmaker prompted him to shorten it to Royce Rizzy, after which a short stint with Jermaine Dupri’s So So Def led him to adopt the name 24hrs. Operating in a more R&B vein defined by pitch-altered, bass-heavy slow jams that positioned him between the-Dream and frequent collaborator Ty Dolla $ign, 24hrs surfaced in 2016 via clusters of SoundCloud tracks plus the commercially issued EP Open on Private Club. The eight-song follow-up Night Shift appeared in 2017, by which time he had also linked with outside artists including his brother MadeinTYO, Ty, G-Eazy, and Blackbear. In 2018 he delivered the full-length Houses on the Hill, which featured the single “Fifty Ball” with Moneybagg Yo and Smokepurpp.
