Biography
Adrian is the stage name of Adrian Martin Vega, the chart-topping Spanish vocalist. He entered the world with hydrocephalus, often described as water on the brain, along with congenital hand malformations, leaving his parents with scant expectation that he would ever experience anything resembling an ordinary existence beyond a vegetative condition.
From his earliest months, Adrian would vocalize along with radio broadcasts while still in the cradle. Singing came to him before articulate speech. He performed not only within the family home but also in everyday public settings, including from his mother’s shopping cart during toddler outings. Before long he was carrying a wooden box and a toy keyboard to perform on sidewalks and inside shopping centers. His parents arranged fifteen corrective operations on his hands, achieving partial success.
At eight he persuaded his mother to register him for a local mall talent competition, which he won. The following year he and his older sister uploaded a YouTube duet of “Qué Bonito,” which accumulated more than sixty million views and turned him into an online phenomenon. His Facebook page quickly drew hundreds of thousands of followers. The clip reached Latin superstars including Alejandro Sanz, who responded with strong emotion. In 2015 Adrian performed at Telethon Chile, captivating millions of viewers. Sony signed him and issued his debut album Lleno Da Vida, a fourteen-track set of well-known songs recorded as duets with Spanish artists such as Rosario, Nina Pastori, and Jose Luis Perales. Its lead single, “90 Minutos” featuring India Martinez, reached the Top Five on airplay charts. Released in April 2016 when Adrian was eleven, the album ascended to number one on the Spanish album charts.
