Biography
By the close of the 1960s, Mexican Alex Lora had emerged as a rock en español pioneer through his work alongside Charlie Hauptvogel in the band Avengers. The pair launched Three Souls in My Mind in 1968, delivering a standout set at Avándaro's Festival de Rock y Ruedas, widely known as the Mexican Woodstock. The group continued recording in English until 1973, when it issued its first Spanish-language album containing tracks such as "Que Viva El Rock and Roll" and "Oye Cantinero." Charlie Hauptvogel and Alex Lora parted company in 1984. The former retained the existing band name while the latter founded El Tri, which made its debut with the album Simplemente El Tri.
