Biography
Forming in Sweden during the early 1990s, Astream began with Robban on guitar, Henke on drums, and Champ Asenov handling bass and vocals. After countless shows throughout the country, the band entered the studio in 1995 to capture their first release, the EP Marvellous Tomorrow. Ante Holmqvist joined later that same year, taking over the drum chair from Henke. A stretch of intensive touring followed, leading the group to record its debut full-length album, Woodfish. As their following expanded across Sweden and the rest of Europe, the trio landed support slots with Refused, Satanic Surfers, and Randy. Their second album, Jumps, Giggles and Shouts, further entrenched their standing inside Sweden’s punk rock scene. In 2000 the band returned to the studio to lay down Good Times/Bad Times, their third major release.
