Biography
Aubrey O'Day, recognized as a pop vocalist and songwriter, began her artistic path through early stage performances before enrolling at the University of California, Irvine and completing a bachelor's degree in political science. Several years afterward she auditioned for the third season of Diddy's Making the Band and became the first vocalist chosen for the resulting act, Danity Kane. After the group finished two albums, Diddy removed her from the lineup in 2008 because of dissatisfaction with her conduct. Live stage work, acting parts, and assorted television appearances came next. In 2011 she secured a solo deal through SRC, the Universal Motown-affiliated imprint, yet first appeared without success on Donald Trump's The Celebrity Apprentice. Her debut EP, Between Two Evils, followed in August 2013 and displayed her typical bold dance-pop approach. Danity Kane reunited briefly with O'Day to issue DK3 in 2014.
