Genre: Latin ,Mexican Traditions
Origin: U.S.A
Listen on Coda
Banda Brava operates with a flexible roster of musicians whose head count fluctuates, frequently settling near nine but occasionally swelling by several additional players. Live presentations by the ensemble recall the vigorous style associated with fellow Latin acts including Banda Cuxpala, Los Baron de Apodaca, Banda Movil, Charanda Band, Los Cardenales de Nuevo Leon, and Banda Arkangel. The group delivered its first album, Cumbia O.K., during 1990. Subsequent releases have appeared chiefly on the Balboa Records imprint, yielding nearly a dozen full-length projects across roughly the same span of years. Banda Brava has supplemented that catalog with two compilation sets and a single video release. Listeners encounter such selections as “La Sirenita,” “Enamorado de Ti,” “Mataron A Un Federal,” “No Quiero Despedida,” “La Razon Es Que Te Quiero,” and “Te Vi Llorando” throughout the band’s recordings.
