Biography
Emerging from the ashes of the dissolved band Climates, Blood Youth formed as a Yorkshire-based melodic hardcore group distinguished by furious vocals laced with pop-punk energy, explosive drumming, and dense, palm-muted guitar work. Once Climates ended, guitarists Chris Pritchard and drummer Sam Hallett channeled their dissatisfaction into a fresh compositional approach that yielded several new tracks by late 2014. Equipped with an assortment of fresh sonic textures and moods reflecting their inner tensions, the pair completed the lineup by recruiting vocalist Kaya Tarsus. The quartet secured a deal in 2015 with the independent Italian hardcore imprint Rude Records, issuing their debut official recording, the Inside My Head EP, later that year. Reviewers praised the EP for injecting welcome originality into a crowded field. Their follow-up Closure EP arrived in 2016 and markedly broadened their audience. The band delivered their debut album, Beyond Repair, in 2017.
