Cherie, the pop singer born during 1984 in Marseilles, France, cannot recall a time before vocal performance formed part of her daily life. Professional opportunities began at age nine, and the immediate warmth of audience responses supplied the decisive spark that turned her interest into a lifelong vocation. The French National Vocalist award arrived by her twelfth birthday, after which she spent her later teenage years appearing in cabarets and nightclubs. Lava Records offered a contract and arranged recording sessions in the U.K., Miami, and Los Angeles with leading producers such as Mark Taylor (Cher, Andrea Bocelli), Corey Hart (Celine Dion), and Rhett Lawrence (Mariah Carey). Early in 2004 her composition “Ready” was placed on the Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen soundtrack, and her self-titled debut album appeared that spring.
