The Canadian duo Cleopatrick emerged from Cobourg, Ontario, when lifelong best friends Luke Gruntz on guitar and vocals and Ian Fraser on drums joined forces. Their music fuses gritty riffs and nervy beats into choruses loaded with hooks, shaping a muscular, groove-heavy fusion of classic hard rock and churning alternative rock that recalls Arctic Monkeys by way of Highly Suspect. The pair delivered their first EP, 14, in 2016 and followed it with Boys in 2018. They resurfaced the next year with the rollicking single "Sanjake," then issued their debut full-length, Bummer, in 2021. The 2022 Doom EP contained the fiery streaming hits "OK" and "Scaring Me." Cleopatrick kept sharpening their alternative, grunge, and blues rock approach in 2024 by unveiling the dynamic single "Hammer," which offered listeners an initial glimpse of the upcoming sophomore album.
