Cornelio Vega, Jr. serves as singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist while fronting the Mexican Regional ensemble Cornelio Vega y Su Dinastia, founded by his father. He first drew massive online attention for his music while still in his teens. The norteño style performed by both the artist and his band spans mariachis, romanticas, corridos, and cumbias alike.

From an early age, Cornelio Vega, Sr. instructed his son on accordion, guitar, drums, and bass. Vega, Jr. entered professional ranks in 2014 as second vocalist for the group under his father’s guidance. At that stage the repertoire drew primarily from compositions by Vega, Sr., brother to musicians Chuy, Freddy, and the late Sergio “El Shaka” Vega. Young Cornelio quickly distinguished himself through his interpretations of cumbias and corridos. He also launched a personal YouTube channel featuring solo acoustic performances of his own material; positive responses followed, and those initial clips accumulated tens to hundreds of thousands of views independently.

He wrote the song “Adicto a Ti” in 2015 and offered it to his father, who reworked and tracked the piece. The resulting radio hit prompted a change in band roles, positioning Vega, Jr. as lead vocalist for Dinastia. Early in the following year he emerged as a standout contestant on the reality series Tengo Talento, Mucho Talento. Months afterward he uploaded a clip for his original track “El Primero.” By year’s end the video surpassed ten million views and secured him a contract with Gerencia 360. Across all subsequent uploads, his catalog has now exceeded 70 million views. Cornelio Vega y Su Dinastia released their first full-length album, Problema, in late 2017.
