Biography
Established in Copenhagen, Denmark, during the early 1990s, Cut 'N' Move operated as a club-focused ensemble devoted to dance-rap, urban contemporary, and acid jazz. Although hip-hop exerted considerable influence on the ensemble, its output avoided the intensity associated with rap's hardcore scene, instead attracting notice primarily within European dance-music communities. The lineup featured rapper MC Zipp, whose delivery carried only a faint Scandinavian accent, alongside vocalist Thera and producers Jorn K and Per Holm. Epic issued the ensemble's first full-length project, Get Serious, in 1991, selecting its title track—a rap-dance cut—for release as the lead single. After an extended hiatus, The Sound of Now arrived in 2000.
