Damar Jackson, a singer and songwriter working in contemporary R&B, first explored music on the keyboard through imitation of broadcast hits. After committing seriously to the craft for several years, the Louisiana native secured an early breakthrough as co-writer of K Camp’s 2015 single “Comfortable,” which climbed to number 22 on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop chart and reached number 54 on the Hot 100. In 2016 Jackson issued his own material, oriented chiefly toward slow jams, among them the singles “Crazy” and “Changed,” the former included on the five-track EP Ninety3Until. Prior to the 2017 release of his eight-track, Empire-distributed album Unfaithful, Jackson had already contributed to recordings fronted by Jae Lyrix, B. Simone, Dan Diego, and Rubberband OG. A deluxe expanded edition of Unfaithful arrived in early 2018, adding further songs and remixes of several original tracks. The next year Jackson delivered the full-length project U2.
