From North London comes Daniel Briskin, whose soulful vocals meet an alternative vision of R&B on the 2021 debut mixtape forever was a feeling.

Born and raised in London, he discovered music early through his parents’ consistent supply of pop and classic rock. After picking up drums and piano, he advanced his training at Sylvia Young Theatre School; the daily journeys there steered him toward R&B and hip-hop, particularly the sounds of Childish Gambino and Frank Ocean. He later secured a spot at BIMM, an institution that has counted George Ezra and Fontaines D.C. among its alumni, yet left before completing his studies to prioritize his well-being.

Channeling those experiences into songwriting, he soon aligned with PMR Records—home already to Jessie Ware and Disclosure—through his emotionally charged lo-fi R&B. Briskin began shaping new material alongside Jamie Reynolds, former frontman of Klaxons, and the two connected immediately over their shared creative process. The first result of their collaboration surfaced in 2020 with the release of “boy on the lake.” Several additional tracks followed before PMR issued the full mixtape forever was a feeling at the start of 2021.
