Biography
Producer Daniel Woolhouse works under the Deptford Goth name, shaping fragile electro-pop laced with R&B touches that bring to mind the xx and James Blake. Intent on making tracks that fall "somewhere between real and synthetic," the art school graduate first appeared near the close of 2010 through the single Real Love Fantasy, sending electronically altered vocals across indistinct synth layers atop a minimal rhythm. Following his deal with Merok Records, Woolhouse issued the more austere, polished Youth II EP during October 2011. Deptford Goth's debut album Life After Defo surfaced in early 2013, with its more gradually unfolding follow-up Songs appearing twelve months afterward.
